Miss Ashley

Originally from the D.C. area, Ashley is a native Spanish and English speaker, with Venezuelan roots. After living in Buenos Aires, Ashley made her way back to the states to produce local TV news in Austin. The recent, heavy election year quickly made her realize the importance of helping cultivate a better future-- which she believes begins with planting seeds of love and compassion in little ones.

Ashley has strong beliefs rooted in respecting natural rhythms, stemming back to her days as a former kids' soccer coach and summer camp counselor. She believes children are masters at listening to their bodies, and with the right tools, can master self regulation. Ashley redirects energy using different games and activities to suit ebbs and flows of the activity levels in her classes.

She practiced Bikram and Hatha Yoga throughout high school and college, and studied the science and philosophy of Integral Yoga at Swami Satchidananda's Lotus Temple in Yogaville, VA.

After completing

her 30-hour kids' yoga teacher training at The Little Yoga Hou

, she volunteered at our Yoga Peace School program for a year before officially becoming a part of the family.

When Ashley isn't teaching at YPS, Kids' Night Out, or Family Yoga, she and her husband Juan can be found gardening, hiking, camping, or working on their new 6-acre plot they've recently purchased out in Bertram-- which they hope to build a house and organic tropical fruit tree farm on. ASK HER ABOUT IT :)
