Vanessa was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, where she first developed her love of staying active through adventure in nature. She spent her childhood camping, hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, kayaking, canoeing and traveling all across the country. She also found a strong passion for theatre and dance at an early age, which grew to become a profession in her later years. It was a theatre friend in high school who first introduced Vanessa to yoga, and it quickly became part of her daily life.
Vanessa began teaching children's theatre at an early age and has been working with kids ever since. Her love of working with children continued to blossom after teaching for 10 years, but the desire to teach something other than theatre began to grow. She knew the peace and harmony yoga brought to her own life, and she wanted to give the same thing to children so they would be able to apply it to their life as they learn and grow. In the beginning of 2013, Vanessa discovered the world of children's yoga and never looked back. She continues to fall love with it after each of her classes.
Vanessa is a certified Hatha 200-hour level teacher through Yoga Yoga. She also completed a Yoga for Kids and Families certification with Rainbow Kids Yoga. She has also taken a children's intensive with Karma Kids Yoga and an advanced studies 50-hour level training for Advanced Asana and Injury Prevention with Yoga Yoga.
She loves living life to the fullest and making sure laughing along the way. EVERYTHING IS AWESOME!
